Why do we need a Care Ministry?

When Wilma Strait, Chairperson for the Care Ministry team, asked this question at the first meeting, the general response was "to care for our church family."

Our immediate goals are:

  1. To visit, call, and/or send cards to our shut-ins, homebound, and nursing home patients.

  2. Send cards and/or make contact with inactive church members.

  3. Visit or send "get well" cards to those who have been hospitalized or are recovering from illness.

  4. Send cards to shut-ins on special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, Easter, etc.

We sent several cards, made visits, and made personal calls to those homebound.

We also sent postcards to inactive members in January. We are now preparing another card to be sent out in May or early June. It has also been suggested we send a "thinking of you" or "thank you" card to those serving in our armed forces.

We invite anyone who would like to visit or call on some of our members in nursing homes or homebound, or in any way to assist with the Care Ministry team to contact Wilma Strait. She has guidelines for calling on homebound members.

You do not need to be part of the team nor do you need to attend any of the meetings. We simply welcome your help and ideas.
